I am curious if there are any plans to allow multi-device tracking of a single activity. I have both a vivofit with a heart rate monitor and the Garmin android app for tracking the gps track of my activity. I would love to be able to start an activity on each device within a few seconds of each other and then when they were uploaded to the connect web site it would be great if the site would notice that they were recording at the same time and then merge the activities and correct the calorie count based on all the info available.
Garmin already supports multiple devices recording single activities. I can go cycling in the morning with my Vivofit, Forerunner, and Edge all feeding of the signal of my HRM3. The Forerunner and Edge will be slurping up signals from my speed and cadence sensor as well.
When I sync everybody I get three activities. I get three times the distance, two times the steps (Edge does not do steps), and one time the calories because, if you have a Vivofit, Garmin has programmed CG Modern to ignore calories from all other devices. Curiously, if I don't pair my VF to my HRM, I won't get ANY active calories for the ride. That's right . . . just my BMR even if I do a Century at a record pace.
