Sharing with connections

I have changed the privacy settings to allow "my connections" to see my profile and activities. The lock is still appearing beside my name when I go to my profile and to others whom I have "connected" with when they try to see my activity. I have saved the settings and when I go back into settings, it shows the settings still allowing connections to view but the "lock" will not go away.
What do I need to do?

I did some tinkering with my account and everything behaves like I'd expect. The only time I see a lock when viewing my profile page from the account of one of my connections is when my profile privacy is set to Only Me.

As for your activities, the privacy setting in the settings pages only applies to new activities. If you want to make old activities visible to others, you have to change the privacy setting on each activity.

I am having the same problem...it looks like it has saved in allowing my connections to view profile and activities but they cannot see anything! I have checked and I can see theirs. Did you work it out?
