Garmin Connect Modern not loading - 'fixed'

Hi,

Tonight I had a problem where Garmin Connect modern would not load - it brought up the left side buttons but they did nothing when clicked and the main page was blank (see attached).

I poked around with Firebug and found http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=grmnconnect&async=1.js?bust=14.5.0.17 was not loading - it stalled for a while then timed out. When I pointed s7.addthis.com to a local web server it worked OK in Firefox but still not in Chrome. In Chome I found the Disconnect addon was stopping the load of addthis for privacy reasons.

Garmin, can I suggest that failing to load an external resource should not stop your site from loading? If addthis.om was down is would not be OK for your site not to load, and I would prefer not to have to make exceptions to my privacy settings just to load your site.

Same problem here. Could you dumb this down for me so I can fix it too? Using Chrome.

Whitelisting connect.garmin.com in Disconnect fixed it for me as well, thanks!

Thank you, Paul! I couldn't figure out what was keeping it from loading for me, but I had s7.addthis as a local redirect in my HOSTS file. I removed it and the GC dashboard is back in business.

However, when I click on an individual activity it won't open. If I use CTL+click, it will open just fine in a new tab as expected. Any guesses?

Garmin, are you kidding me? The new Connect isn't off to a good start. Listen to the user community or risk falling further behind in a rapidly expanding sector where you previously were well poised to dominate. Competition is fierce.

Aha - the Whitelist in Disconnect fixed this for me - thanks JKISSANE! :D
