Planning a course on connect won't let me use interstates?

I'm planning a touring trip and I have a edge 800 but when planning a course on connect it won't let me use interstates. Is there a way to make connect recognize these roads?
  • Legally, I don't think bicycles are permitted on interstates. So I wouldn't expect Garmin's lawyers to want them to route you on them. There might be some areas where it is permitted, but none around me allow bikes that I know of.

Yep, there are some Interstates where it's the only road in the area, so cycling use is permitted. I-70 in the Colorado Rockies is the only one I know off the top of my head, but I know there are a few others.

Still, my 705 has an option to route for a motorized vehicle. I'd never trust a machine generated route for cycling anyway. Even Google maps, which is usually pretty good about those things, has a disclaimer about using their bike/ped routing. Did the 800 not carry that feature forward?
