Completely Wrong Route Recorded

Hi,

I did a run on the 28th May 2014 that was recorded completely wrong.

Actual Route I did:

Route Recorded by my Forerunner 10:

I am on the latest software update, 2.4.

Any ideas how I can stop this happening? My device is new and I a bit disappointed to be honest.

Thats surprising - never seen anything like that on my 610 - are you waiting for the device to fully lock on to satellite before starting the run? If it carries on doing this I'd be tempted to return to the shop for a refund as the performance you are getting is not what you would expect.

Hi JSPICKERNELL,

Yes, I waited for the lock to occur. The Forerunner 10 will not let you record a route with GPS until there is a lock. It took 4-5 mins to get the lock. When the watch locked it did record the route fine for the first 1 KM or so then it all went a bit pear shaped. The route changed elevation with a few long hills up and down, but nothing dramatic.

I had wondered was this normal

Have you done other runs with similar results if so I'd return to shop asap as this is really worse than useless
