Forerunner 610

Hello Garmin team.

I love my Garmin Forerunner 610. I started using Garmin since December 2009, I had the Forerunner 405 and it was great, but the thing with that watch was that the wrist strap ripped off and I had to replace it twice.

Later in 2011 I bought the 610, and it happened too, the wrist strap broke and I solved the problem buying the Velcro strap, it's nice comfortable and it last longer. But today I write to you because I know you can use a better material to make the back of the watch in order to make it more durable, I am attaching a pic of my Garmin and it is very corroded because of my sweating I think.

I hope my comment is helpful for you to take action.

Have a great week.

  • Not sure why you have problem with straps I've had 3 garmins and had no problems - but I do wear the watch quite loose on my wrist. The corrosion in your pic looks terrible!!!!! I had much less corrosion on my watch and Garmin replaced when it was over a year outside it's warranty - the newer version of the watch has a different design back which is mostly plastic - I've experienced no corrosion with the new back at all. *I suggest that you report this corrosion to garmin support and send the pics you may get a replacement free of charge - it is certainly worth trying. You should argue that the watch is not fit for purpose if it is showing that level of corrosion - it is after all a very expensive watch and you are using it in just the conditions that it was supposedly designed for.
