Why Elevation Correction is automatically ON?

While uploading from a barometric device (910XT) the default should be OFF
  • The elevation correction functionality is being reworked. I don't believe that you can trust the enabled/disabled indicator. If you have a look at the activity linked below (recorded with a 910XT that had a failed barometric altimeter), it indicates that the elevation corrections are enabled, but the elevation data is clearly wrong.

    Thanks for your reply!
On my last run yesterday, the elevation gain was 234 m (noted on the watch -> barometric read out after training). After uploading to connect the displayed value was 215 m (the correction was setting automatically to ON). After switching off 234 m where indicated... But today as I play again with the On/OFF switch the 215 m don't change any more. So I agree that the function is leaking at the time.

My connect isn't already converted to the new layout. As I see the new look (by your link above) I am not sure if I should be happy or not. Do you have any information about the opdate of the connect platform? Especially the announcement of the new connect is at least two months ago and for me has newer change anything....
  • All I can say is that the elevation correction functionality isn't working correctly or consistently and I have no idea when it might be fixed.

As for getting into the modern Garmin Connect, I'll repeat what others have said many times over; you're not missing much. It is very similar to the classic Garmin Connect except that you have the ability to create a dashboard with widgets. It isn't really that big a deal. Unfortunately you just have to wait for it.
