Why no sub-forum for other Garmin lines?

Hi, UK Zumo 660 owner checking in...

Still using my zumo inthe car as i keep getting odd ball routes for navigation, being taken through cities here in uk instead of via motorways. Why is there no minor roads avoidance that my Garmin quest had many, many years ago?

Anyways, zumo was bought to use on my motorcycle so am surprised there are no motorcycling subforums.

Still trying to figure how how to show the routing option on the map as the owners manuls shows, cant find an option to do this anywhere, any help appreciated.

Cheers, Frank

    Hi Frank,

I have the Zumo 350 that I use in the car and on the bike. I think it calculates a different route depending on whether it's set for car or motorcycle.

I agree, there should be a motorcycle forum.

  • Touch the bar at the top of the screen, that brings up the turn by turn list. At the bottom there is a 'Show map' option ... tap that and you'll see the route.

    Motorcycle Forum & Zumo 660

Motorcycle Forum I also agree with. Maybe this is it guys! I run the BMW Navigator IV, that is the equivalent of the Zumo 660 and made by Garmin. Took a while to learn a few tricks and I'm sure we are all happy to share tricks we have learned specific to Motorcycle Navigation. Let see if we can make the Motorcycle Forum happen. Any other Supporters out there?

I'm a MC guy so if there were some specific MC info I would like it.

Question for the webmaster/site owner, would it possible to setup a Motorcycle subforum? Victory Motorcycle's GPS factory option is Garmin.

Guess this request died on the vine?

Considering that hikers and bikers are about the only market left for standalone GPS I'd think Garmin would be interested in a MC forum?

Why no sub-forum for other Garmin lines?

I have to ask: Why no sub-forum for Garmin's outdoors units (eTrex, GPSMAP, Oregon, Montana, etc.)? For that matter, what about the other product lines, too (marine, aviation, etc.)? Not all of us are marathon runners or triathletes. Some of us move a little slower. :p

I've been a member here for years, and while I only occasionally stop by, I'm always perplexed as to why Garmin isn't supporting their other offerings in their own forums. I know that other forums exist on the 'net, but it would be nice to see Garmin officially host something here. Clearly there is the ability to do so, as the Fenix and Tactix sub-forums were recent additions.

C'mon Garmin, how about it?!
  • You're not alone. Some of the mods have also been pushing for this and asking for 'On the road' and 'On the trail' forums for a while. As you can see we now have some 'On the trail' ones and I'm hopeful we'll get more in the near future.

More of you that ask the better though.

Thanks SUSSAMB! Good to hear some validation. I suspect that Garmin is going through an identity crisis of sorts; smartphones and tablets have undoubtably gobbled up some of their business. Other companies are coming out with fitness trackers, data loggers, Bluetooth GPS units, watches, etc. Lots of competition out there for the consumer's wallet. All of which means they need to get leaner, stronger, and better. Improving customer service, outreach, and listening to users here would be a great step in that direction. Longtime Garmin owners (including myself) would certainly appreciate it! :D

    GREAT QUESTION!
As a new Garmin customer and Montana 650t owner, I find this forum not that user friendly. And when you are behind the tech curve, not having subforums for our device is frustrating to say the least.
  • Go to Garmin's fourms in Germany...Google Chrome will translate for you.
