Garmin eTrex30: Boundaries and Segmentation

Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place to put this; I looked under all the current forum headers and couldn't find one.

I'm trying to use my Garmin eTrex30 to do 3 things: (1) create a boundary/area; (2) to segment that area into various parts and (3) follow a path from one end of my segment to the other.

I think I've figured out how to do 1 using the area calculation method but I'm completely stumped on 2.
