I just upgraded and installed my 1040xs with a 175m transducer, also installed the g2 black box w/g2 software, but I am un able to figure out how to get the fish eye view. Any help? Thank you.
Just to provide an update, when I purchased the unit, I immediately plugged my new g2 card in before the installation. This was based on what I read in the instructions. After this post and calling Garmin tech support, and also speaking to other Garmin GPS/sonar owners, and still no luck, I decided to remove the SD card from the unit, powered it up to the home screen. Once power was completed, I inserted the SD card. (This is the documented process to do your software updates for these units.) after a few seconds I received an error saying "slot 1 memory card is empty." So I moved my SD card to slot 2, got the same results. Now thinking I may have an empty card I brought the SD card into the house and put it into my computer. Sure enough the card was empty.
So I have a replacement card coming. Lessons learned, power unit up first before inserting SD cards.
