different readings on device and garmin connect

i did a ride today it read 1014m elevation on the device which i know is correct
when i plugged it into garmin connect it said 536m
i selected and deselected elevation correction and it made only a slight difference but still no where near correct
any ideas anyone?

Welcome to the "enabled" "disabled" bug. It's been a known problem for many weeks. We've been told that Garmin is working to correct this, but with no success thus far.
