Have Garmin made a big mistake with the new Connect?

Was all the correct testing carried out? So many problems. The site takes ages to load at times and sometimes not at all. Segments not working properly. I've started using Strava quite a bit for logging training. The analysis is so much better there.
  • It definitely feels as though it isn't ready for public release doesn't it!
  • It is quite terrible to be honest. From inconsistent design in icons to poor performance. They have all the ingredients to make it really cool but the execution is quite poor.
  • I'm finding it particularly frustrating that it takes up to 3 days to determine whether an activity crossed a segment or not, when with Strava it's instant.

It definitely feels like Garmin never completes anything properly, but just moves on to the next thing. I hope not with the Connect website.

I have had so much trouble with it as well. I am unable to see any of my workouts since it has been introduced. There is a problem loading them on to the dashboard page. I can sometimes upload them on to my training peaks account but not always and then I am unable to see any of the details. Very frustrating leading into an event on Saturday.
  • I actually don't see the point of the new design. Was it just to use frames? There is now a little less usable space on the page. Personally I prefer the old format. What is the advantage to this new layout?

I have also tried the "modern" interface and was unimpressed. I can learn a new interface, but I didn't have time to mess with Garmin Express. Since express chose not to work, I uninstalled it and decided to wait until it has been fixed.
  • I don't bother using Garmin software to upload. I upload from my phone using Uploader. I've used it for a long time and it works great!
