Garmin Connect Is there a way to Manually enter Body Fat values?

Is there no way to enter body fat and BMI statistics manually into garmin connect? I am pretty irritated that it appears the only way I can input this information is purchasing a tanita scale and replacing one I already have to do this.
It doesn't make me want to buy a scale it makes me want to stop using garmin products. Why allow me to input weight but not body fat percentage?

Am I alone on this shouldn't this be a given?
  • I agree with you, I have the same feeling. I have already a very good scale but with no internet connection, why should I buy a new one just to use Garmin Connect?.. it shouldn't be so difficult to add the values manually. I also think that it should be a given!!..
  • I agree. This is a no-brainer.

    That's so stupid!

I have an adipometer - which is the most accurate and cheapest way to assess your body fat percentage. Unfortunately, since I don't have ANY plans to buy a smartscale, I am obliged to use another app just to log this information.
Please Garmin, this shouldn't be so hard to implement.
  • Agree! Give us the ability to manually input BF%!
  • Spent all this $ and I can't even enter body fat % ???????????????

Hello, I am on a tight budget but dished out a ton of $ for the Fenix 3 and love it! The amount of stats is amazing and it's already got me moving more. I also now am using Garmin Connect and having fun with all the stats, reports. So I went to find Body Fat % and I can't locate in anywhere.

I am shocked. For the brains behind these tools and the stats gathered, to simply add 1 more manual entry (perhaps at Weight area) should be something so simple. And all the activity I do is for 2 reasons - have a blast and REDUCE my body fat %.

For the $ I just invested in the Fenix 3 - this is absolutely ridiculous that Garmin has not implemented such a simple, yet very important type of measurement.

For an easy thing to program in, it will also make a lot of people happy to see that included I'm sure.

    Thanks
    Dave

Thanks for your excellent question MMOXIE2020! Garmin does not consider people who want more than one function per device their target audience. Incidentally, Garmin is proud to announce their new line of timers, thermometers, cadence recorders, speedometers and standalone HRMs all designed to connect through the patented Octopus(tm) charge & sync cable.
The benefit to you, the consumer, is to only have to pay (~US$300 MSRP per device) for each function you need!

Does exist some program for iOS too?
  • Tanita data (body composition) not uploading to Garmin Connect any more in MODERN

Do you have any idea why Tanita Scale body composition (% fat, muscle, water, etc.) is no longer uploading to (or is just not visible in) Garmin Connect MODERN? If you switch to CLASSIC, it's still visible. In MODERN, however, only weight is displayed.

It looks like they broke it when the Index Scale went live. You need to log a support ticket to get them to fix it.
