What happend to manual upload?

I will never buy any of your devices again! First your website was changed upruptly without telling users about three months ago, then it became slower and slower. Now we have another change that is supports only Windows and Mac OS. What about linux? The Linux firefox plugin doesn't work and your new software doesn't even allow manual upload like before. Well done Garmin, you piss me off. You have good satellite watches but crappy software and website support. There are so many competitors for you now, you're simply shooting yourself in the foot.
  • As a Linux user, I'm in the same predicament, but the "upload" button on the activities page still works. Oh! I think the upload button has been fixed while I was composing this message. It works as before.

    I uninstalled Garmin express and the upload button worked. I was able to upload all my recent activities into connect the old fashion way.

    Manual Import link is on the Activities List page

    I have the upload button but it just takes me to the main screen - super frustrating

    I'm using the "modern" Garmin Connect user interface. When I go to the listing of my activities (like a spreadsheet), there is an [Import] link on the far right. This brings up a dialog that lets me select *.fit files from my Garmin Forerunner 210. I was able to upload activities that way. For some reason, the auto upload isn't working any more (since a few days ago).

    same here. i can start the upload but it fails 99% of the time. how else can i import a route to garmin connect. i know i can copy to the device but i dont always want it cluttered with these files. i would like it in my account and just bluetooth the route i need as and when i require it!

    Am i doing something wrong because I keep going to the manual import and it won't let me select more than one activity at a time? I haven't been able to upload for weeks now and its seriously like 30 activities! It will take me FOREVER to do it one by one!
  • Actually there are options for Linux that work well to get data (.fit files) from Ant+ Garmin devices. Just not from Garmin. Connection-wise the solution I use is actually a lot more stable than Garmin Express on OSX (and this is beta software). As I am not sure as to Garmin's policy towards third party (community) efforts, I won't name names here at this moment. Perhaps someone from Garmin might clarify?

    This is however at the moment of little use, as manual upload to Garmin Connect is obviously BROKEN. Can't upload .fit, .gpx or anything from either Ubuntu or OSX. The only feedback i get from Garmin Connect is "Undefined error". Yeah. Thanks for the info... And YES, I have disabled all possibly blocking browser plugins.
    Garmin obviously has some sort of problem in the software department. Bugs galore.
    I sure hope Garmin has some kind of plan...
  • @ENPARK I'm not aware of any upload issues using the manual 'import' option, unless there truly is something wrong with the file that you are attempting to upload. Can you attach the file?
  • In modern GC... get to the activities screen. You can either click on the title bar of the activities rectangle in the dashboard view, or you can click on the dropdown list (the three white bars at the upper left) highlight "Activities" and click. You should now be in the activities screen that shows a list of all your activities. Far right about ⅓ of the way down from the top it says "Import" in blue letters. Click on that, you get a screen that walks you through manually importing .tcx, .gpx, or .fit files. It is a bit less than intuitive but it is easy enough once you find it.

    Yes. There is a button. Try using it. I've had no success so far.
    Tried with GPX from GPSBabel, TCX from GPSBabel, GPX from Garmin BaseCamp and FIT directly from FR 310xt. I have tried using Firefox Mac, Firefox Ubuntu, Chrome Mac and Safari. Unblocked everything Garmin related. The only thing i haven't tried is changing the browser locale from sv to en or installing Windows.
    So I wouldn't say the issue has been completely resolved. Have you been able to do manual uploads?
    Adding a button is easy: <input type="button" value="Manual upload" onclick="whatever()"> Doesn't do much though...
    If you, on the other hand, are being subtly ironic and I'm too stupid to realise I apologise for my stupidity.
