It appears that Garmin wanted to do an update to the manner in which the "Upload" function was accessed. Unfortunately, at least in my experience, they seemed to have screwed up what was a perfectly functioning feature before this supposed update. All I get now is a redirect to a page that informs me that I need to update my software and re-sync. Fine. I did that and, surprise; when I go back to the home page and go to "Upload", I once again get redirected to that same page. I'm curious as to whether this is something only I'm experiencing or a known issue. If the latter, does anyone have a solution to get past this nuisance?
I have to +1, but I'm seeing the same issue with a Fenix2 .fit file. What's really funny is that the Connect -> Strava auto-update worked, but the activity is not showing up in Connect, nor can I manually upload it. The upload just sits there spinning on "Uploading..."
Nice work Garmin. You must be morons. You took something that worked and totally f****d it up. Now I cannot even use my Garmin Forerunner. I might as well just switch entirely to Strava and use my iPhone. Not only does the upload not work, but on your new home page there is nothing that even indicates how I am supposed to upload data. Improvement? Ha! What a joke. Did you not do any testing to see what your customers wanted before you hired a bunch of non-running pencil-neck computer geeks to create some kind of social networking experience?? I am a runner, swimmwer, biker. If I want to visit with friends I can go to facebook. I just wanted something to track and map my runs and you totally took that away.
Glad to see it's not me. Same issue, the files won't upload, they just sit there spinning with the word 'downloading'. I was able to upload the same file to Map My Run without issue. Now - to the good people at Garmin, I've been using your products for three years, I've owned three of your watches, two running watches and a swim watch. I've uploaded thousands of activities without too much issue. If something's not functioning how about you put a notice on Garmin Connect on the page where the error is. I understand things go wrong, try telling the customer, we're surprisingly understanding. Making me go searching the web looking for information is sub-optimal. Also, if it assists, I'm able to upload an advanced workout from Garmin Connect to my 405, so information is going from Connect to the watch with no issue. Clearly information is going from the watch to the computer without issue (it went to Map My Run after all), just seems to be uploading to Garmin Connect that is problematic.
Garmin must have started bidding all of their IT work out to low-cost Indian firms. Who cares about the customer after all, just as long as it is cheap. I think I'll switch to TrainingPeaks.

But why should we pay extra for other solutions (albeit much nicer) when we were sold a bill of goods along with software that should work in the first place? Garmin is really dropping the ball here and I've recommended their products to at least 4-5 other people who bought watches but I will no longer be an advocate. These upload issues and 910XT elevation issues is the last straw
