It appears that Garmin wanted to do an update to the manner in which the "Upload" function was accessed. Unfortunately, at least in my experience, they seemed to have screwed up what was a perfectly functioning feature before this supposed update. All I get now is a redirect to a page that informs me that I need to update my software and re-sync. Fine. I did that and, surprise; when I go back to the home page and go to "Upload", I once again get redirected to that same page. I'm curious as to whether this is something only I'm experiencing or a known issue. If the latter, does anyone have a solution to get past this nuisance?
However, as MICHAELSDOWNEY notes, Garmin is experiencing a server connection issue right now. I think all methods of upload/import are going to fail until those servers are ready to receive new data.
I have the same issue of not being able to upload and also get re-directed from my XP laptop using the lastest version of Mozilla Fiefox yet managed to upload from my Vista desktop using the same browser??? Admittedly it is bloody annoying and like others have said why fix if it ain't broken. Anyway did Garmin not user test the new version/update first as web design good practice!! Beginners error eh??
Garmin's apparent response to all of these reports of problems is to laugh it off as no big deal.
Somebody in their PR and Software departments aren't getting the message about how pissed off the users are getting over these continually botched "updates".
The company needs to start being more proactive about managing the corporate response to these problems, or the complaints are going to keep getting louder, until sales of new devices starts suffering.
