Remove device from garmin connect

I try to get my vivofit out of my connect account, as well in the iPhone app, as on the website.
I read a 9 month old mention at yahoo, that this is not possible.

Has Garmin meanwhile included this awesome feature?

Thanks

((I found the "remove device" within the iPhone app, after tapping the "i" at the top bar, but this doesn't remove anything at all. Only the BT pairing)
  • If you are looking at the modern Garmin Connect, removing the device is pretty simple. From the dashboard, click the three horizontal bar icon on the left edge. Then click Devices. You should see an icon for each device. Click the device you want to remove and wait for the device page to open. Once you see the device page, click the little gear icon to the right of the device name. You should see an option to remove the device and another option to retire it.

If you are using the Garmin Express software on your PC/Mac, you should be able to select the device from the dropdown on the top-left of the application window, and then click the Device link in the top-right corner. Once the device page is showing, there is a Delete Device from Express link that you can click to remove the device from Garmin Express.

Ah, thanks a lot. After removing it from the modern interface, I had been able to delete it from the app, too.
I really used google and looked through the FAQ before, but I couldn't finde a solution, until you came. :)

    Thanks again!
  • Hi--any idea what the difference is between "remove" and "retire"? I would like to keep the data but no longer have the device (replacement came from Garmin)?
    Thanks very much.
  • Ahh...if only I had clicked on the "retire" button earlier, this info would have popped up:

"When you retire a device, your activities remain on Garmin Connect, but your device will not sync with this account. If you change your mind later, use Garmin Express to link your device to your account as you did when it was new.

Are you sure you want to retire this device?"

Maybe that'll help the next person...
