Problems syncing Garmin Edge 800 with Garmin Connect

Hi - I have a Garmin Edge 800 that connects to my iMac through a USB lead. The Mac is not recognising the Garmin when i click on upload and therefore I am unable to download any recent rides from my device. When i go to download recent activities the only device the Mac recognises is an old Garmin 405 watch which is no longer connected to the machine. I have tried buying new USB leads and still no success. Can you recommend anything that will help to rectify this issue please.

Does the 800 show up as a mounted disk? How about when you Apple Menu -> About this Mac -> More Info... -> System Report... to get System Information running. Does the 800 show up in your USB tree? Do you have another computer you could try plugging the 800 into?
