Suport for Safari ending?

It says every time I log on that support for my Browser is going to be withdrawn and that I change to Chrome, Firefox or Explorer - well I own a Mac and have no intention of changing my Browser, are Garmin seriously going to stop supporting Safari??
  • I don't see that with Safari. What exactly is it that you're doing and what does it actually say? Are you perhaps seeing a warning that the Garmin Communicator Plugin is being abandoned?

I see the same message and agree with your comment.
  • I think the most pertinent question is what version of Safari are you using? If you are on a very old version, I'd expect that at some point support for that old version would be deprecated. Current versions are 7.0.4 (for OS X) and 5.1.7 (for Winows).
  • I fully agree! Mac is very prevalent and I'm not seeing the benefit of using Chrome or Firefox over Safari. Garmin, what is your basis for phasing out support for Safari?!
  • Who told you that Garmin is phasing out support for Safari??? I use Safari (I'm using it to type this), and I don't see any messages saying that. TRAVIS.VITEK asked a good question: what version of Safari (and OS X) are you using?

I'm using Safari 7.0.4 with OS X and I've seen this message a few times now. What exactly is going on?
  • That's what I'm using, too, on Mavericks (10.9.3) and I've never seen it tell me that. I rarely use Chrome and never use Firefox, so all of my access to Garmin Connect is through Safari. Are you using any kind of blocking extensions?

It was blocking pop-ups until a couple of days ago. I have now changed this setting so will wait and see if I get the message again. Do you think this may have been the cause?
  • I'd be surprised, but maybe that was it. I usually have pop-up blocking on, but I have to turn it off to use a site I need for work on occasion, and I see that it's still off. I was thinking more of things like Ghostery. I was having trouble with Facebook at one point (lots of images wouldn't show), and a blocking extension was the culprit.

I think it must be a bug. I even get this message in Chrome where it tells me I should use Chrome...
