Elevation difference between Garmin Connect and Oregon 650

In the last laps I've done, I've noticed a difference between the cumulative increase recorded in Garmin Oregon 650 and then registered in the Garmin Connect.
There is always a difference in about 200 meters. For example this last lap Oregon gave 1400m cumulative ascent. When I passed the fit and gpx track to Garmin Connect, decreased to 1200m.
If I pass only the gpx file or just the fit, the same thing happens.
This started happening recently. What is it?

thank you
  • Barometric altimeter data isn't perfect. When the temperature and air pressure vary the altimeter can have issues determining the actual altitude. When you upload the data to Garmin Connect, the position data is used to determine your elevation on a height map, which is theoretically much more accurate for most cases.

But if the Garmin oregon notes a certain amount of accumulated ascent on a bicycle ride, why is not this exactly register on the computer.
Previously had a Garmin Oregon 550 and have never had such problems.
