Hi,
Can anybody help me before I buy another brand of satnav?
I was on a trip back from London on the M4. It's a simple 2 hour run down the motorway, over the Seven Bridge and home at J26. My 1390's settings have never changed (and still not set to avoid tolls etc). For some reason, it decided I needed to get home via Ross-on-way, that's a 2 hour deviation !!!!!!!
I ignored the M4 junctions it was telling me to turn off at several times and simply kept going on the M4. After about 3 junctions, it then decided it was OK to go over the Seven Bridge after all and my journey time fell to just one hour !!!!
I've travelled the M4 all my driving life (25 years) so I KNOW I was wright!
Why did my Nuvi 1390 decided I needed to take a 2 hour detour?
The problem is, this unit never used to do this, and I've not changed anything. I've checked and double checked it's still on the correct setting for tolls etc.
This 1390 has done this to me quite a few times in the last year, not just on the M4 but all over the UK. It just decides to go the longest way it can for no reason I can see.
Can it be fixed or is it time to change brand ?
Thanks,
Rob.
