Undelete / restore activity to Garmin Connect

After a run, my Garmin 620 uploaded the activity to Garmin Connect. In the process of editing the activity, I inadvertently deleted from Garmin Connect.

I want to restore it...

I pressed the connect button on the 620 and it appeared to upload (i.e., it didn't say nothing to upload). But, back on Garmin Connect, the activity is still gone.

The activity is still on the 620, but not on Garmin Connect. How do I re-sync or restore it on Garmin Connect.
  • I'm not familiar with how the 620 sends its activity data to Garmin Connect, but if you use Garmin Express to do it, you should be able to find the file on your computer by following these directions, and then upload the file using the manual upload/import feature. If you aren't using Garmin Express, you should be able to install and configure it to download the activity data from the device to your computer. Once you've got the files on your computer then you're good.

  • Thank you for the tip, Travis. In the case of the 620, the procedure is a bit different. The key that you pointed out is that if the raw file is still available, it can be "imported". I'll document the process I used for the 620 on a Mac

    1. connect the 620 via the USB cable.
    2. Open Garmin Connect and navigate as shown.

    3. Click import. You will see a dialog box as shown here

    4. Navigate to the mounted files in the 620 via the USB connection.
    5. Choose the desired .FIT files(s)

    6. Import and the file is restored.
