Problems with new Garmin Connect Modern & Garmin Express

Problems with new Garmin Connect Modern & Garmin Express 27 ‎March ‎2014 on Windows 8, Internet Explorer

Have updated to 'Modern' and latest Express (version dated 27 March 14) and this has resulted in NOT recognizing or uploading new data from my Forerunner 310XT ... can see this data in History on device. Needless to say it was working perfectly on previous versions.

Any suggestions ??

The only other odd things have seen with this 'Modern' software is the month occasionally defaults to having 3 or 4 days in it (e.g. Mon 27 May, Tues 28 May, Wed 29 May).

There was a new version of Garmin Express (3.1.9) released today with improved support for the 310XT. You should upgrade to that version and see if things improve (download it here).

Have you reached a point where you signed into your Garmin Connect account (within Garmin Express) and the Express starting syncing?

Have been looking through garmin facebook messages this since I left message and have already updated to run Garmin Express 3.1.9

The data does not sync with this 3.1.9

Following instructions in :
support.garmin.com/.../case.faces
The fix that says it loads the .fit files onto PC and this can then be updated manually does not put the untransferred files into the folder :
C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload

I can see the old previously transferred (using older version of Garmin express) in this folder

Any suggestions - do you know this version of Garmin Express 3.1.9 works ??
Any other work arounds ??

Have just generated 20 sec of new data and 3.1.9 has transferred it direct into garmin connect - Thanks

I assume the original data still sitting on device is now untransferrable /lost ??

Glad to hear you got things working with 3.1.9. Just so I'm clear, you see some older activities that have previously been transferred to Garmin Connect (via Express) in C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload, and you also have successfully transferred a new dummy activity via Express, but there are some activities in between those two periods in time that are not syncing (which are on the device but not in Connect or the C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload path)?

What version of firmware do you have on your 310XT? 4.50?

Yes - this is exactly as you describe . firmware version is 4.50

The new 'dummy' activity doesn't appear in C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload folder either

How many activities are still on the watch that aren't transferring? The .fit files should actually be one level deeper in C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload\FIT_TYPE_4

There is one file ... (3hour10min28sec 43.1mile bike from history on device. )

As I was unsure as to where these files would be saved on computer was searching computer for ' * .fit ' files which brings up FIT_TYPE_4 and FIT_TYPE_9 folders as locations

There are 2 ' .fit ' files in the FIT_TYPE_4 folder size 2kb and 14kb - manually uploading these Garmin Connect reports they are already present in Garmin Connect (i.e. they are not related to file am trying to upload)
