Consistent Theme Throughout "Modern" UI Style

I just received an invitation to test out the new Garmin Connect "Modern" site today. Some of the new features are pretty cool, my favorite that clicking on the logo in the upper left brings you back to the main dashboard page. The dashboard looks really sharp, even though I can't get certain features to work. (I can't add the courses module, and the Personal Records one just shows a picture of a trophy without any data). However, this UI isn't carried through to the other pages of the site. I'll walk though the ones I use on a regular basis and describe what I think could be changed to make the UI look better.

Activities: The search box at the top looks nice, however when you open up the filters, it just seems like there it too much white. The filter categories just blend in with the background. There should also be some kind of separation between the search field and the activity window, and if the search box was moved upwards a little, there would be even more room to show activities. The "Buttons" to edit/delete activities are terrible. A blue bar with white text like on the dashboard would look much better, preferably with a bit more padding on the left side. Also, the activity window is designed poorly. There are 2 different scrolling sections which is very confusing especially on smaller monitors. In fact, when the window is small, the export to CSV button is missing at the bottom, and not even scrolling will reveal it.

Activity Page: Everything seems to just run together, especially with all the buttons/hyperlinks at the top of the page. When viewing another user's activity, there is a random blue circle around the Elevation Corrections text. The scaling is terrible. On a large monitor, there is too much whitespace on either side. However, when the window is small, there are 2 scroll bars and the content does not fit in view. The new player is also missing a full screen option.

Calendar: This seems much better to me than the activities. One thing that could be improved is the "collapse" button for the left sidebar. The cursor that appears makes the user think that they can resize it, but instead the sidebar just disappears. The calendar UI appears to be the same as the old one (instead of the new modern UI), but I think it still looks alright, and I'm sure it will eventually be updated.

Connections: I really don't use this page much, but I noticed that there is a TON of white space. The left column should resize dynamically with the size of the browser window. On a large screen, the Map could be extended on the Activity feed, and multiple people could be displayed per row on the My Connections and Find People Tab. As with Activities, when using a small browser window, some of the content is hidden. For example, the leaderboard runs into the boarder on the right, and the left column is hidden by the navigation bar.

Courses: Appears to be just copied from the old UI again. The map section could be extended down about another 3 inches on my monitor, and the course list is even shorter than that. Increasing the map size would make editing much faster. Also, not really a UI thing, but when clicking on create course, the map should move to the location the user was previously viewing, not the area where they live.

Reports: As with most of the other pages, the content should be able to dynamically resize depending on the size of the browser window. I think it would be better to see a little better separation between the sidebar and the graph (as in like a visible divider). I also miss the ability to get reports for specific time periods, this should be added and the scales should be modified accordingly. And when clicking on a specific activity (when viewing average pace for example), that activity should open instead of only showing the date.

Overall Feedback: I realize that this modern site is a work in progress. I just want to share my thoughts on what could be improved. My biggest concerns are content scaling depending on window size, and the look/separation of the new button/list styles. I'm by no means a UI designer, and these are just my opinions to make the site look even better.

Dashboard: I like the updated layout, but think that all of the widgets should have an "expanded" view and not just a "mini view". Not sure what the purpose of adding tabs is to the dashboard. It may be that I only have one device, but I don't see what can be done after adding a tab.

Navigating the site: The page loads feel slow at times. I also think that there should be a "Dashboard" or "Home" on the sidebar for consistent navigation. Users shouldn't have to click on "connect powered by Garmin" to get to the dashboard and use the sidebar for all other non-drill through navigation.
Activities: Like that the Activities Widget can be toggled between last activity and list view. The Activities page has a more modern look, but has a whole lot of unnecessary scrolling to the right. Columns can be added or removed, so it looks like the leave all of the space as if you had all columns turned on. (For example all "run" columns are off because I only have cycling information.) However, some swim columns "SWOLF" and Power columns are on as a default (even thought I don't use a power meter). The Power columns I can understand, just not the swim columns. Columns are added or removed 1 at a time with the page reloading after each change.

Calendar: Calendar widget doesn't always load properly. After loading the full calendar and going back to the dashboard, the calendar widget displays correctly. Main Calendar is basically the same and I like it just the way it is.

Connections: Don't use; can't really comment.

Courses: Widget only has a "mini view". Course Page is essentially the same, but the space needs to be used better.

Personal Records: They simply moved their poor implementation of "personal records" to the new look and feel. The cycling personal records are very limited.

Reports: I didn't explore them very much previously, so I like what I see. Can't tell if they are better or worse. Yet again, a poor use of space.

I emailed support with the following:
Some feedback on the new Garmin Connect Site:
    1. When using the new dashboard I do not see the feature to add a widget to the dashboard; or to add them to a new dashboard.
    2. Multiple Reporting Widgets - building on the first item, it would be nice to have multiple reporting widgets - to show VO2 and Total Activity Time for example.
    3. When I imported from my fēnix2 and went to use quick edit to edit the activity, the changes did not stick for the name of the activity. I had to go to full edit to change the name
    4. I’m able to update my weight but not over time and there is no edit feature on the body fat and other metrics items. I don’t see the point of this - its not useful. Please allow for entry of other metrics.
    5. Personal records view is less useful and simple - I like the old view, it would be nice to see an option for an expanded view here too on the dash.

    No Messaging with Connections

Until recently, I have been focused on things that just plain didn't work. There are still a lot of those the most perplexing being GCM's almost random reporting of steps and calories associated with Activities.

More recently, I branched out into the realm of Connections and Groups. It looks to me like there has been no provision made for communicating with your connections. About all you seem to be able to do with that is compare step totals. If you are in a group with someone (they need not be a connection) you can see their activities and they can see yours. You can "communicate" with fellow group members (sort of) by commenting on their activities.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to send a message to a Connection?

Trouble with connections: I'm connected with my wife's account and she can see my activities in the feed, but I can't see hers. I set up her account to be identical to mine in every way so it isn't a simple issue of having missed a check block. I've modified it using both the new and old UI and the problems persist. Her new activities automatically add themselves as private and have to be manually changed to connections and groups each time. This is severely annoying. I have a 310xt and she is using a Forerunner 220.
