Connect not recording data against a set goal

Hi all,

I've only recently bought my first Garmin GPS watch (FR220) and I've set up a training plan and a couple of goals in my Connect Calendar and sent them to my watch.

One of the goals I have set is a relatively simple "Run 50km in 30 days" where the 30 days started yesterday (7th May). I ran 5.46km yesterday indoors on a treadmill (watch said I did 5.46km, treadmill said 5.52 so both are reasonably closely calibrated) and my watch auto uploaded the the data through the Connect app on my Nexus 5.

However, my training calendar still shows 0% against my 50km target, when it should be showing 10% or so, and also is still showing my longest run as 4.2km against an outdoor run I did a week ago, when the longest run I have now done with this watch is yesterday's treadmill 5.46km

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Does Garmin Connect only count outdoor, GPS enabled runs against targets, PBs etc.? I tend to do quite a bit of indoor running with there being a gym in my office and it would be a shame if I cann't count these stats alongside my regular evening and weekend outdoor runs.

Thanks
  • I've just done another 5.6km on a treadmill, and while it has now updated my PRs for length of run, distance etc. it still hasn't counted the approx 11km I've now logged on the treadmill against my 50km target. I'm still sat at 0% instead of 20% or thereabouts.
  • Just done another 5.5km outdoors with GPS switched on, and I still haven't knocked any distance off against my monthly goal.

Can anyone please explain what I am doing wrong here?!?!
  • If you look at the goals list here, is the activity type set to Running or Treadmill Running? Are the activity types of each of the above listed activities set appropriately (Running, Street Running, Track Running, Trail Running, Treadmill Running).

I've created a similar activity to the one you've described (30mi in 30 days) and it seems to be updating just fine. You might try deleting and recreating the goal.
