Issue with upload from 910XT in GarminConnect

What software are you using on your computer? To download activity data from your device, you must have your ANT+ stick plugged into a USB port, you have to be running software to communicate to the 910 via ANT+ (either the ANT Agent or Garmin Express), the 910 has to be on, it has to be paired to your computer, and the software (ANT Agent or Garmin Express) has to know to associate your watch with your Garmin Connect account.

I tried the following routes:
1- I plugged ANT+ stick into a USB port, turned the 910 on, I went in GarminConnect, I logged in, then I hit the upload button, it said Detected Device = Forerunner 910XT, I then hit Upload All New Activities and then it said it is retrieving activities but nothing else happened
2- I plugged ANT+ stick into a USB port, turned the 910 on, I opened GarminExpress, I hit Getting Started, then it said it detects the Device, then I hit pairing and it said it could not pair the device

1 - You must have Garmin Express or ANT Agent installed and running in order to have the data taken off your device for transferring to Garmin Connect. If you have ANT Agent you need also to have Garmin Communicator installed as well.

2 - Do you have ANT Agent installed as well as Garmin Express? If you do, ensure Garmin ANT Agent is nor running or uninstalled - you may have to check that a service is not running in the background.

Do you have pairing turned on, on your device when trying to pair with Garmin Express?

All good advice. Make sure ANT Agent is either not running or uninstalled, and make sure pairing is enabled on the 910XT. Garmin Express should then be able to find it. You should then be able to sign into your account (within Garmin Express) and your activities should start syncing automatically. If you haven't synced since 2012 it may take a while. :)

You will probably have to enable pairing in the menus on your device. To enable pairing on the Forerunner 910XT, navigate to Main menu, select Settings > System > Data Transfer, then set Pairing to On. Now try to pair your device.

As indicated above, it is generally a bad idea to have both ANT Agent and Garmin Express installed on the same computer. It can be done, but you have to be sure you understand which software has control over the ANT stick.

I am having the same issue. I have a missing activity that is on my 910XT, but is not uploading to Garmin Connect. I am connected and have uploaded the subsequent two workouts automatically. When I try the "upload activity" button, I get the "reading activities" message, but it just sits there and does not make progress. I can create a brand new activity - i.e. hit the start button and let it go for 10 seconds - and it will again, upload automatically.
