I have an ipad air, garmin 810. How do I get my rides to Strava?

Hello all. I have an ipad air and just recently bought a Garmin 810 bundle. The 810 communicates directly with the ipad wirelessly. I cannot get my rides onto Strava though. I was using a web site called Tapiriik but that does not even open and work anymore. Also the garmincommunicatorplugin app is not ipad compatible. It is very frustrating as I've spent good money on the 810 only to find serious complicated limitations. I used to run an app for free on my Blackberry and it uploaded my rides straight to Strava instantly without having to jump through hoops. Strava is far greater than the Garmin Connect and I can't use it! Please help. Thank you.

Upload your activities to Garmin Connect and then have Strava sync them.
  • How exactly would that work? I already have the Strava and Garmin apps on my iPad Air and I don't see a way to sync them together....
  • I don't have an 810 box sitting in front of me, but I'm fairly certain that it will say it requires Windows or MacOS, just like all other Garmin devices.

Regardless, you shouldn't have any trouble getting the Garmin Connect Mobile software to connect to your 810 over bluetooth. When you finish a ride, you should be able to upload your activities to Garmin Connect. Once the activities are in Garmin Connect, you either need to transfer them manually (you won't be able to do this with an iPad), or you can use a 3rdparty service (like Tapiriik). I don't know why you believe Tapiriik isn't working. I sync my activities to Strava with Tapiriik on a daily basis. If you are having trouble loading the page from you iPad, you might take a few minutes and open it up on some other device, and then paying the $2/year to get automatic syncing. If that isn't acceptable, there are other sites that offer the same service (copymysports) that you may be able to use.
