I created a course in Garmin Connect and sent the course directly to the device (FR305). If I run this course at the same speed that I specified in the course, I find that Virtual Partner shows erratic data. The distance behind / ahead jumps arbitrarily between tens of meters behind to tens of meters ahead.
There appears something wrong with the data that GC puts in the course, because when I look at this course in Garmin Training Center, I find that the speed varies between twice the the specified speed and zero! When I export the course data to my computer and look at the trackpoints, I find that the distance numbers sometimes decrease instead of continuously increase.
Is this a known bug? Am I doing something wrong here? Is it possible to save the course first as a TCX file and then send this file to my Garmin device? I have good experiences with courses that I created in e.g. GPSies, saved as TCX files and uploaded to my FR305.
