I have created s new route on Garmin Connect but when I try to save it I am taken back to the log in page which then locks up. Nothing has been saved.
I have successfully created , saved and sent new routes to my Garmin device in the past.
This problem has just started.
Does anybody know how to overcome this please?

  • I'm having the same problem. I faked it (I think?) by creating a "fake" course (just a start and stop point) and saving that. I had to log in again, but then was able to edit the "fake" course and save it successfully.

Although that worked for me today, in the past I was so annoyed that I took 13 different screenshots of the course, and then had to recreate it 6 times before I finally got it to save. This took hours longer than it needed to, and I really hope that this bug gets worked out quickly as I plan to be making many more courses in the near future.

Same. I also noticed that after a while the message icon (top right) suddenly suggests I have four new messages) - it seems that if I save a route before this appears the route is saved normally, but afterwards it does the log-in page default business

    Same issues here. Extremely annoying!
  • You should all log a ticket with Garmin support - this is just a user forum so whilst Garmin do look at it they won't respond directly to bugs/issues such as this

Having failed to plan a route again thos morning, I've spoken to Mark at Garmin Europe. With him on the phone, of course it worked perfectly, and also for him on his Garmin Connect account.

They are interested to get it fixed if they can identify the problem, but at the moment they only idea is that it's related to a change in the server software that was made in the last few days.

If you're still having this problem, please call Garmin on 0808 238 0000 (0830-1730)

They must have updated something related to idle timeout on either server or load balancer. If you're using chrome this extension will help you : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/staying-alive-for-google/lhobbakbeomfcgjallalccfhfcgleinm

Create a rule that background refreshed the dashboard or something every minute and you wont get kicked out no matter how long you spend creating courses/activities etc.

Garmin doesn't monitor anything in here and their customer support in here is terrible.... their only solution will be to be buy the new model when it comes out. Ditch their connect webpage and use mapmyride.com is the solution I guess.
