Please repair this activity file, it stucks to upload on Garmin Connect

Please, could someone help me on repairing the attached file (maybe using Fit File Repair Tool).

I just ran on the beach sand for the first time... If I lose this activity it would be a shame.

Here it is the file:

I read in another post (by @MATHIKRALLI, here) that Garmin Connect is having issues with certain GPS positions. Is there any more information or Garmin official statements? Me and three other friends experienced issues to upload activities occurred this weekend.

Thanks in advance,
Felipe.

  • Yeah, I have a swim from yesterday morning that I can't get uploaded.

I've tried the fit repair tool as well.

If anyone is willing to give me a hand, it would be appreciated. I was looking at it as a .csv file, but not really sure what I'm looking at to possibly make changes or edits.

Let me know if there is an issue with GC.

    Thanks!

I think it is a shame that people try to repair files and even re-install software whereas the issue seems to be with Garmin Connect. A simple communication from Garmin could prevent many wasted hours.
  • I think mine might actually be a file problem though. It uploads to both Strava and Training Peaks but it isn't all there.
It won't go into Garmin Connect at all.

Then you should fix the file :-)
FYI - my swim did not get uploaded successfully by Garmin Express and does not appear in Garmin Connect but appears nonetheless in Strava (via the autosync-link between Garmin and Strava).
  • Wow, super helpful

I've tried. I'm not sure I know what I am looking at. Hence, me getting on this forum and asking for help.
  • Thanks Mike, whatever you did worked perfectly. Many thanks

What I tried to say is that there are issues with uploading swims. In the meantime this has been confirmed. However, if you really think that in your particular case the issue is with the file then you should surely try to fix it. I hope somebody might be able to help you.

Fair enough. My thinking that it is a file problem is because it will actually go into Strava and just not be complete. Intervals are missing although the total distance and time seems correct.
    Maybe that isn't correct thinking.

Thanks for the link to the confirmed problem.

    Hello Kurt,

In this case the problem is the file not Garmin Connect.
I do not swim so I am guessing here.
Also my comments here are using the labels shown in the PDF file.
Garmin Connect uses different labels and I will be talking to the FFRT developer about matching his labels to GC.
A Lap in the PDF is the same as an Interval in CG and GC does not count or label the Resting at all but the Tool counts each Rest as a Lap.
The file shows that you are making manual Laps. Are you manually pressing the Lap button every time you stop for a Rest?
There is only 1 Rest Lap between each swimming Lap except at 1100 meters. See attached PDF of your data from the Tool.
I think that is where you lost some data and the file got corrupted.
There are 3 Rest Laps in a row at 1100 meters with Lap 31 having 3m43s which is almost the same amount of time as Laps 33 and 35 (see PDF).
It appears your 910 thought Lap 31 was a Rest and failed to record data or the data was corrupt somehow and the Tool fixed it by making it another Rest.
Either way it looks like you are missing 200 meters.

On Garmin Connect the missing data is between Interval 15 & 16

So....here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

I have just finished one of my best swimming session with my 910XT only to find out that i cannot upload the session on Garmin Connect.
It seems that the .fit file is somehow corrupt.
Could anyone please help me to repair this file

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Sami

Could somebody please help with my file. I tried an online tool without success. Since i am a mac user i can't use the fit file repair.

I tried converting it to CSV to see if i can understand the structure and check if some rest interval is missing. but it seems to complicated to read on excel.
Would be very much appreciated is one of you guys can grab and check my file.

    many thanks
