Connect (Modern) - Courses screen Real Estate

Love the new modern format of Connect.
However, the forced height in the style of the working frame reduces the usable "real estate" offered by one's monitor resolution.
This is particularly frustrating in Courses where you can no longer have a full-screen view of the map to identify, plan, plot, and view your route.

I've just switched to the Modern version and see exactly the same thing on the Courses screen - why is that blue bar at the bottom so big?

On my screen the Classic view the map is 712 pixels vertically, but on Modern it is just 500 - essentially a 30% reduction in size. Then if I switch on the elevation viewer, it drops to just 350 pixels and looks ridiculous. You spend all your time scrolling, even when zoomed out!
