    Google Maps.
Routes not on the coast but only a few miles from.

Same, Google Maps with routes not on but close to the coast
  • Same here, Google Maps, proximity of coast.
  • For those of you who are experiencing this bug can you confirm that the courses you are creating are near the coastline? Are you using Google Maps or OpenStreet Maps?

Google maps. Near a coastline to a river

If it may be of any help:
Try to start with making a very short 'beginning track' (work at it less than a minute or 2). There's a good chance it will be 'saved'.
When it is saved, click on edit and add another relatively short part. Save again and edit again to continue.
Now and then (mainly when my additions are too long...) I'm being sent back to the sign in page.
But never mind, what has already been saved is still there, so you'll only have to re-track the last part.

Remind, this is merely a tool untill they have solved the very irritating problem...

Having this problem also, IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari even tried it on both my PC and my Mac.

Means my lovley new £400+ device is nearly useless for routing me anywhere at the moment.

I'm having the same problem too. I'm running Windows 8 and Chrome version 34, Internet Explorer 10 - the problem exists with both browsers. I seem to be using Bing Maps (according to the watermark on the maps), and am not planning routes anywhere near the coast. I find that I have to create a tiny segment of the ride, save, edit, add a bit more, save, edit, etc,etc until the route is complete. Not fun when planning long rides.

This behaviour has only started in the last week or two - have there been any updates to the back-end that might have caused this? It's VERY frustrating
  • Yes, I have the same problem, every time I try to save a new track the website give me back to login window. It is not possible to create new tracks and that sucks!
I've tried with Mac: Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Windows: Internet explorer. No result.

Please, fix the problem, we have payed heaps of money for our devices and we need to use your site!!!

    Thx.

I too am having the same issues. Any fixes yet?
  • From Garmin Support:

Thank you for the update. I would be happy to continue assistance. We have been researching instances of this happening and it appears to be isolated to situations where the creation of the course or editing the course takes longer than about two minutes. It also appears to be more prevalent for users in Europe. We have several research cases open regarding this issue and if you reply with your Garmin Connect username and email address I would be happy to create a new case for this. As a work around, if you create or edit a course within that two minute window, it should work fine.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing in the meantime. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
