1-When I design a course and download to Garmin 810, there is no elevation profile on the device... Is there a fix?
2-There are many roads that will refuse to accept a track point. These are normal roads.. not unclassified ones... is there a fix?
3-If up upload a GPX file into Garmin Connect, it refuses to send this to the device. I have to drag and drop directly into the device from computer desktop.... Is there a fix?
4-Editing an uploaded GPX course is accepting editing but edits not showing when on device

I have just got Garmin 810 after using Bryton for 3 years. Not impressed by Garmin Connect snags and lack of user friendliness... is there an improvement coming?

I completely agree with your sentiments. I find Garmin Connect rubbish for plotting routes. Often I want to go across a staggered crossing which crosses an A road. The system will not let me plot waypoints across such a junction or use an A road. It puts a huge circuitous route down which is totally nonsensical. I have yet to find an option to allow me to use major roads. This is particularly a problem when trying to plot someone else's instructions such as for an Audax where you try and stick to the prescribed route. Come on Garmin make this system more usable or tell us how to change the settings. I have Memory Map which I can't fault but since buying a Garmin Touring device I thought I'd move on. I wished I hadn't. Nothing wrong with my eTrex/Memory Map combination which never lets me down.

I am so fed up with Garmin Connect especially with the route generating part of the application. I now use "ride with gps" for that activity and find it far superior. I just export the generated file as type .gpx and save it on my computer. Then I drag and drop the file into Garmin/Newfiles. The next time I switch on my Garmin 200 I have a new course ready to follow. It automatically changes the file to type .fit and places it in the Courses folder leaving Garmin/NewFiles empty.

At the moment I still use Garmin Connect for uploading rides (although only manual uploading is working at the moment!!).
