Data not uploading to Garmin Connect

Hi

My data is not uploading to Garmin Connect despite message status by Ant Agent saying Transfer was successful. The data has transferred to Training Center as part of the Ant Agent transfer.

I have tried uploading from Garmin Connect which finds the new activity but the 'uploading' circle keeps going around without uploading. I have also tried downloading the file from Training Center and uploading manually into Garmin Connect but again circle keeps going around without uploading.

Anyone else experiencing problems today or have any suggestions? I have checked all software is up to date.

Thanks.

Mark
  • Hi,

Garmin Connect is having issues with certain GPS positions at the moment.

If you have the Fit File Repair Tool (http://fitfilerepairtool.info) you can try to import and then export your activity without gps position data and check if this file can be uploaded. If this is the case then you are a "victim" of an issue that Garmin Connect is having with some (!) GPS positions at the moment.

am i missing some status page where this is mentioned? and where garmin posts updates? i couldn't even find it mentioned in this thread..

i find it a bit weird, as my edge 800 activities have been successfully uploaded, just activities from my forerunner 405 have errors.. those GPS positions aren't that far away.. any more information on those "some gps positions"?

since i find activities without GPS positions quite useless (otherwise I wouldn't own a GPS watch) i just skip that experiment and wait for a fix.. a status page would be nice showing that error and what progress is beeing made in fixing it..

    thanks,
    Herbert

I have the same problem with mu 910XT, Data will not transfer no matter what I do. I've tried resetting, un-installing and re-installing. Nothing has transferred since 4-12-14.

I had a similar issue with my 4th replacement Garmin in THREE months (first 3 were hardware issues...) so sent an abrupt email to Garmin out of hours. I got a reply a couple of days later saying it was a 'known issue we are working on' but nothing since that 3 weeks ago.

However I then looked into it myself. Deleted the 310xt off my Ant Agent on computer, and performed a hard reset on the device itself, reinstalled Ant Agent. It has worked fine since (touch wood...!).

While I can't accept responsibility for any results, this is what I found online to do the hard reset. You may lose all history though?

There are a few instances in which a master reset (or unprompted reset) can be performed on the Forerunner 310XT. All data on the fitness watch will be erased.

    To perform the master reset:

    Power Forerunner off
Press and hold Enter and Mode buttons
    Press and release Power button
Press and release Lap/Reset (watch will power off)
    Wait 3 seconds
    Release Enter and Mode
The reset on the Forerunner 310XT is only successful if the device finishes powering up, and goes to the setup wizard. Repeat the steps again if the setup wizard does not appear.

Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data once the reset and setup wizard are complete.

    Mathias,
I've tried to upload my activities without the gps position, and they just uploaded fine to garmin connect.
Well.. i'll be using strava until garmin find a solution to this problem.. .

I am having that same problem of data from my Forerunner 310XT not transferring to the Garmin Connect page. The ANT Agent goes through the process, and at the end says the data has transferred successfully, but when I go to Garmin Connect the new activity is not displayed. I even tried Manually Entering the new activity, but, again, it does not display on the "dashboard" or anywhere else. Does anyone have any insight?

well, through Garmin connect, I cannot sync the races.. for some odd reasons, I can see the second one I did.
I tried manually with the plugin( I know it is not supposed to work anymore) and it did not work either.

Also, when I pair it with a Nexus phone to use the app, it pairs but doesnt transfer the data.
