When will Garmin Connect work with the Forerunner 305?

I just bought a Vivofit after using a 305 for years. I liked the Vivofit since all of my data was on Garmin Connect. Now, though, the Garmin Express software does not detect my 305 and the website says it will be supported soon.... does anyone know how soon? I have about 2 months worth of runs on my 305 I would like to upload to the site.

I'm not sure how you go about getting activity data off of the 305. If you can plug it in via USB and just see the filesystem, I'd locate the activity data files and back them up to my PC. If you have to use the ANT Agent, I'd use that. I'm not saying that I have any doubts that 305 support isn't coming to Garmin Express; I'm just saying there are ways you can get by without it right now and there is no good reason to not try.

Doe the 305 work with ANT?

I haven't tried to look for the data via USB yet.... with the USB drivers not working, I am not sure I will be able to... but I will give it a try tonight.

Nope - the USB driver does not even let me see the device to look for any files on the device...

I tried and the USB drivers simply are not working with Windows 8 so I cannot see the device.

I did try my old Dell running Windows XP and managed to get the data to upload to Garmin Connect through the old upload process, but I wonder how long that will last...

I switch to Classic and upload the 305 then back to modern for the vivofit. Hopefully they will add the legacy support to modern soon.

How do you switch to "classic?"
