That deletes the activities but not the health data. How does one delete ALL the previous user's data? I cannot for the life of me figure it out because I received a previous user's watch, and now all their health data is on my account, even after resetting the device and deleting all the activities. It also still has all the record data of the previous user, and I won't be coming close to those records for myself, so that information will be on there forever, it seems. If someone can help delete all this info, that would be very helpful.
You can reset a watch before syncing with your account, then it shouldn't add old data.
Existing data can be deleted using small trash bin or gear icons. Those are near each record, so it's the easiest to remove. Other data for selected day can be removed on the Daily Summary pages using the gear icon. A watch has limited memory, so probably won't be too much, unless you mean it's a watch with previous user account, then better just create a new one.
Yeah, I didn't know how this all worked until after I had synced the watch to my account. But that would have been the best option. Hindsight.
Unfortunately, I don't see any trash bins or gear icons that have the option for deleting, for instance, the Most Steps in a Day statistic. I certainly don't see anything in the Garmin Connect iPhone app, and in the web browser on my pc all I see is a gear icon at the top of the page under <Activities> <Steps> with two options: (1) Customize layout, and (2) Export Original. Under <Personal Records> <Steps>, the data is all tabulated, showing many tens of thousands of steps that I've not taken, but there's nothing to remove this information. It's the only tab for me that has data in it within the Personal Records menu. If there's a way to delete this information, it's lost on me.
I figured it out. The gear icon only pertains to the current day for the <Activities> pages. There are <> links that redirect to the different days, and by navigating to any previous day, one is given access to the third option, "Delete", within the gear icon's menu. Selecting that for each day one wants to delete the corresponding record enables the sequential deleting of all necessary records.
While all the data has now been deleted, and the device has been re-synced with Garmin Connect, I still have the previous user's PRs, though I expect there is some sort of lag in the system before the personal records are updated with the new data. Maybe it takes a day or so? Hmm...
You're right, steps records don't have trash bin icons, it's only for other records.
I have never tried to remove steps, so don't know if and when this will change records, but yes, probably you should try to remove data for days mentioned by a record.
The Daily Summary is opened from the main menu, it has link like this and each day has the gear icon:

Just had the same issue, wanted to leave my regular email, but to start account from the very beginning. And there is a VERY easy solution. Go to account settings, change email to another your mail, some secondary mail, save settings, log out. And then Sign Up with your needed previous mail. Very easy and its works. Just made so. This option is also good, because you will have possibility to go inside your old account to check your goals.
