Vivo FiT -- Challenges

Anyone know how to enter new Step Challenges utilizing the Vivo Fit?
  • I never formally entered a Challenge but had some pretty big numbers of steps and suddenly found myself in the 100K Challenge. I won it two weeks in a row, and as my reward I was entered in the 150K Challenge last week and came in second. This morning I see that I am now in the 175K Challenge. LOL Be careful what you wish for. I have a question regarding the Challenge that I hope someone can answer. Is each challenge just counting steps regardless of you running, walking or biking? It is not clear to me. I think a biker would have a better opportunity to get more steps in in a shorter period of time.

I have no idea! LOL I am trying to figure out the dashboard and i must say Fitbit did a better job making the whole challenge and connections more clear. I had no idea why i was moved into a different challenge group until I read your post.

I'm also really confused! Have entered 80000 step challenge...is it first to 80000 or just whoever does the most steps?! Now at 80000...have I won?!
  • Garmin needs to fix this problem. It should be whoever gets there first like in a real race. I won't participate in another until they fix this. Also if there is no badge received and it is only bragging rights, I'm out. If you want people to do challenges then give reward. Challenges should be set up like real races as they finish not whomever decides to sync to win with most steps at last minute.

If you are first, you get a badge. If you are not first but get more than the number of the challenge, you may also "step up" to the next challenge. It seems to work just fine, other than for some reason, you get a badge when you win your third, and get one again when you win your 5th, but there is no badge for the 4th.
  • I got to steps first yesterday and received NOTHING. I was at first in my first competition at midnight that day. Next morning people sych'd and I ended up third. I won third and received no badge in last competition. Which wasn't bad for only having device for last 3 days of competition. Only thing got was put in 75K step challenge which will end today. Maybe it is the device I am using, Vivofit, or Garmin's website issues.

You probably got a "stepping up" badge when you moved up in challenges. And the challenges ends at Midnight on Sundays, which can vary quite a bit (like 24 hours) around the world. Yes, some may only sync on Sunday nights, and may "swoop in" and win, but most likely, they will be moved up in levels so it's not an issue.

The only difference between coming in first and second (by a small amount) is that #1 gets a "challenge won" badge. You might get the badge next time.
  • Only badges I have received are for 5K,10K, 2x goal, etc. Nothing for challenges.

Challenges always end Sunday night, and the result are shown late morning Monday (western US). The challenges doesn't end when someone has met the challenge goal, but on Sunday at midnight.

For example, I have 17:45 left in the current challenge.

Have you looked in the PR or badges widget? I don't think you get a notification when you win a challenge or "step up", but it shows in your list of badges
