New Garmin Connect - still no equipment tracking or shoe mileage.

Incredible...for 3 or 4 years now these two features have been requested by Garmin Connect users. I switched to the "modern" Garmin Connect today hoping to see this available but no luck. It's just astounding that Garmin would spend all this time to basically put a new shell on top of the same old Garmin Connect but not spend the time to add a feature that has been requested by loyal users for years.

I've been through a 405cx, 410, 610, 620 for running and 705, 500 for cycling...5 years of data...still can't easily tracking sneaker mileage, chain mileage, tire mileage, etc. So I continue tagging my activities and running custom report exports and dumping them to Excel. When will I learn I suppose...time to just dump Connect.

  • The time wasted could be well spent with an annual sub to SportTrack's online service.

While you may rant and rail at what Garmin should be doing with there free web service to support their expensive training devices, nothing is likely to change. For less than $1 per week, you can get all you and want and much more.

No, I do not work for SportTracks, just a very happy user of their computer and web-based service for many years.
  • That's my plan...I had been holding out since I have so much data on GC but I'm done.
