I am completely new to Garmin Connect. I have been using Strava for some time (free version). I am considering a Garmin 510 as supposed to the eTrex Legend HCx that I have been using for years, or my mobile and the Strava App.
Some of the features such a workouts and goals looks interesting and if going to the 510 would like to use as much as possible. So I decided to check out Connect as I thought integration would be seamless, Garmin own products and all that. But I am unable to add any existing data to the system. I have tried my Legend and although it recognizes the device and the activity log, it does not upload, just sits there forever and a day. Manual upload generates a immediate error, regardless where the GPX file originates from, Garmin Legend, Strava, or any other mapping/logging apps I've used in the past.
Question: Is the Legend supposed to work? I know its not a "Into Sports" model but it record anything that Strava needs to produce the info I am looking for, so can't see why it shouldn't work here.
Question 2: Is a GPX export from Strava supposed to work?
Question 3: Is it worth the hassle? Or is it just a distraction from a great ride.
