I had the same upload issues for several days. Now I can upload via the device or manually.
Although I still get the spinning upload graphic when I use "upload all the activities". I just click through to the Dashboard after 30 seconds and all is good. This behavior has persisted since before the upload failure started.
Please give this a try again. The Garmin Connect team released a patch around noon CST today that should have fixed the issue with uploading .GPX files to Garmin Connect.
I concur with whatever patch job they did (under the covers, silent, name it) and I was able to upload the first of my many GPX files. Finally! Now they deserve to be commended even if they didn't acknowledge in the past that something wrong was committed.

Thanks! It's working again, and I was able to import the rides I lost from Strava so I'm up-to-date on Connect too. :D
Hi
I use Edge 705. I logged 2 trips this week. The first one uploaded no problem. The 2nd trip, I can view on the 705, however It isn't seen when I try to upload it. There are .data files for it, but they aren't recognised
Still no dice with uploading MapMyRide GPX course files to 910XT. The "Upload" function in Connect will always error out. I've Googled for the past 3 hours and finally found a solution which is to use a 3rd party app to add fake time stamps to the GPX file then it's finally uploaded but as an activity instead of course. I then have to send activity to my watch in order to use as a course and suffice to say this is EXTREMELY painful and frustrating.

Garmin - if you are listening, your hardware is top-notch but software really needs work. Can you please just add the functionality to upload GPX files directly to Courses and add to watch without timestamps?!
