Garmin Express says it uploaded, not showing on Garmin Connect

On Thursday, I had no problems uploading my workout. Friday was a rest day. Today I uploaded my workout, and Garmin Express said it was uploaded and available on Garmin Connect, but I don't see it in my dashboard. Today's workout still appears in the history on my device, so I know it's not lost. How can I get it onto Garmin Connect?
  • Are you trying to see the activity in classic Garmin Connect, or in the modern Garmin Connect? Is there any error information in Garmin Express, on the Updates tab's Sync area? Either way, you should be able to manually upload your activity file by going to the upload page and then browsing to the appropriate file in the device directory (the location of which depends on your platform).

If there is something going wonky on Garmin's end, you may have to manually upload your activity files until they fix it. :(

  • I'm not sure what you mean by "modern Garmin Connect". A few months ago they put a completely superfluous "splash screen" page on connect.garmin.com, and the dashboard no longer has a list of every single activity, just the last couple. So I guess that's "modern".

    Garmin Express gave no errors.

Manually uploading the file just hangs.

Importing the file into Garmin Training Center says there's something wrong with it.

Is there some way to make Garmin Express re-import it?
  • After Garmin Training Center said that the file was unreadable, I tried deleting it and re-syncing. That didn't re-create it or re-import it. Then I tried deleting the device and re-pairing it. That didn't re-create or re-import the workout in question. So then I went into the device and selected "Mode->History>Transfer All". That seems to have repaired the problem - although when Garmin Express was importing, one of the ones it said it was importing had a date in 1968. Very odd.
  • SOLUTION - for Win7 and Forerunner 310XT

    * Remove all Garmin software (including USB if shown in "Program and Features") and reboot PC
    * Only install ANTAgent_234.exe (ie do NOT install Garmin Express)
    * Open AntAgent, pair with Forerunner... it will then ask for your Garmin username and password... and data synchronised
    * Tested again today (make sure "Pair with new device is enabled") and data synchronised

    Hope it works for ou
