Pair with Tanita BC1000 scale

I'm sure it's been asked before (but I've searched and can't find it). How about adding the facility to pair with the Tanita BC1000 directly from Garmin Connect.
It's a pain having to pair my 810 with the scale, then upload to Connect.

I agree! I just purchased a Fenix 2 and it is not compatible with the BC 1000 scale. Tanita sells a $200 wi-fi adapter that apparently sends data to a phone application. It would seem to be an easy update to somehow connect the two to Garmin connect. It would also be nice to have the option to add more data fields manually than just weight in cases where you are traveling.

I just wish the 810 would auto sync the weight data when connected via bluetooth to my smart phone

I can upload data to my PC (Tanita Healthy Edge Lite software) using my Garmin Ant+ dongle, how hard would it be to send the data directly to Garmin Connect.

I just bought my fenix 2 today - I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't work with my BC 1000. I was wondering if it was because the BC 1000 is Ant+ and I have bluetooth set to on full time, but I can't even find any weight scale pairing option on this Fenix 2. Well at least I can still get my weight from my Edge 510.
  • Not hard. the Tanita software I use syncs with Microsoft HealthVault - only Garmin is holding up syncing with Connect.

I noticed there was an update to the Tanita Healthy Edge Lite software yesterday, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
  • I have a edge 510 and a tanita. I saw somewhere that when you upload your ride it gives you the option to upload health data. I have seen the upload option once but can't find it again since getting my tanita. It would be nice if it just auto uploaded via BT and my phone to garmin connect, and then to strava.

Its once of those things were yes my weight is always changing because of variation in clothing and sweat + consuming water, but it would be nice to have kind of a base starting value, so I don't have to change my weight all the time. Power is calculated by weight and I have a power goal. I guess I should just get power meters but in the mean time, just having everything connected like its meant to be would be great.
  • Hi,
I'm posting here only to inform that there is a way to become independent of Garmin and the dumb apps for MAC and PC.
Some Android smartphones (I have both Samsung Note 3 and Tab S, but there are several others) have a Ant+ chip inside; and there is an app Ant+ Weight scale Display, that collect and upload to Garmin (and Strava, Fitbit, etc) all the numbers; it has graph ability too inside the app.
So, I'm selling my 910xt now and keeping only the 920xt!

Tanita are supposed to be developing a Connect IQ app for connecting to the scales. That should work with your 920XT.

    Thanks
