Error message "downloading the image, please wait..." when trying to share runs

Anyone know what this error is and a possible fix. Never had problems sharing runs before now. I have a Forerunner 220. Just updated with latest firmware so not sure if that's connected to the problem.

Tx :o
  • Yes, it does appear to be broken. It seems to work just fine if you change the map provider to OpenStreetMaps. In addition, you could just copy/paste the URL to your activity into a status update. The post won't look exactly the same, but it does work.

I have been having trouble sharing my runs also. I have a forerunner 405cx and have just started having trouble sharing. It says to log out and log back in and I have done this several times. What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you
  • Your problem is completely different. You should start a new discussion on that.

  • I have a forerunner 220 and having exact same problem. I have changed map provider to open street maps and Bing and Google. All three give me the download error. Only had the watch about two weeks so up to date. It did post first few runs successfully. Problem just started about 3 days ago for me. :(

Think I've just found the fix....when you press share instead of selecting Facebook go to the bottom and it is a red plus sign and says more. Click that. A full list appears including facebook. When I selected it from there it posted first time.
  • Travis, Vitek - Spot on Sir!

This has been irritating me on and off for a while, thought it was the Chrome browser since it worked if I used Firefox instead. Today none of them would work...

Switched to OSM maps and "Hey Presto"! - all worked as advertised. Thank you for the steer, I would have been a long time finding that out...

I've been having trouble sharing files from my 510. I tried this and it worked fine for those files, too.

I was having this issue then by chance noticed that Garmin was blocking pop-ups. A little icon was flashing in my browser bar. Set it to allow pop-ups, problem solved!
