My UK 760LMT-D arrived 5 hours ago. I've updated the software and the maps.

But when the device restarted after the updates, it was in my house, so I ended up with the GPS Simulator. And I can't find out how to get it back into real GPS mode.

The manual that I downloaded from Garmin (before buying the device) bears only a vague resemblance to how my device works. It tells me to go:

Settings -> System ...

but there is no "System" under settings.

So, step 1, hopefully an easy one: How can I get a manual which matches my device?
For extra brownie points, is there a forum for asking questions about specific devices? I've looked, but not found any.
  • Questions about nuvi's and such are better handled over at this forum --> http://forums.gpsreview.net/

    For whatever reason, Garmin only created this one for it fitness products and some supporting software.

    As for your issue though-- it might be because you were inside, you weren't getting a satellite signal and it automatically went to demo mode. Demo mode might have better been termed 'simulator' mode as it allows you to simulate driving the route you create. Demo to me is something a salesman does to get you to buy something.

    I definitely understand the poster's frustration. I have not been able to get BaseCamp to do a single thing that I downloaded & signed up for. Its a very frustrating program .. not user friendly at all. My guess is that someone trained to use it and using it every day would be comfortable with it. But a newby trying to use it meets just one stone wall after another.
    Hopefully I'll have better luck sorting it all out at the other forum listed in the reply.
  • You've posted this in the Garmin Connect forum, there is a Basecamp forum where any queries you have on Basecamp can be answered, please post there. Thanks.
