Background:
No issues until after a bike workout on 3/27/14, my data would not load to Garmin Connect via my Ant Stick and Ant Agent. All subsequent workouts would not upload either and that is bad for a data junkie.
Actions taken:
I went to the forums and found what information I could about the issue and then I stumbled upon Garmin Express. I installed Garmin Express and it still would not work. I then put in a support request and they (3 days later) gave me instructions to uninstall the Ant Agent and then to install Garmin Express. I did this and I could not get my device to pair with Garmin Express. Garmin Express would recognize the device but never would pair. It would only prompt me via the device screen upon the initial install of the program and I tried to uninstall & then reinstall Garmin Express 3 different times. No success................................until I put in another support request that referenced the original issue. I waited around a couple of days waiting on a response. Then I decided to do a master reset on the watch. I had read about this a few times, but only when the issue was a frozen screen, corrupted file, etc. So.....................a few moments later after the reset, I launched Garmin Express and everything went well. I created a test workout and the data was sent to Garmin Connect.
Summary of Successful Actions if you want to use Garmin Express on Windows:
1. Uninstall Ant Agent (This does not disable the ANT Stick itself, it disables the uploading means through the ANT Agent software to Garmin Connect). Leave the ANT Stick inserted into USB port)
2. Install Garmin Express and do not launch it until Step 5.
3. Complete a master reset on your device
(To perform the master reset:
1.Power Forerunner off
2.Press and hold Mode and Enter buttons
3.Press and release Power button (still holding Mode and Enter)
4.Release Mode and Enter once Power is released
The reset on the Forerunner 910XT is successful if the device finishes powering up and goes to the setup wizard. Try the steps again if the setup wizard does not appear.
Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data once the reset and setup wizard are complete.)
4. Ensure that device is powered on and that pairing is enabled.
5. Launch Garmin Express.

It is my current understanding that you do not have to use Garmin Express and you can still use the ANT Agent, but you cannot do both.
