Cadence graph blank on Garmin Connect

This started with my ride last Friday, March 28.

When I upload a ride to GC from my Edge 500, the unedited ride appears on my dashboard, the Cadence graph shows just fine when I open the ride and View Details. Then I do a Full Edit. After I edit, and whether or not I have edited Cadence, the Ride Page has all of the edits, except the Cadence graph is blank. Even the dropdown Time/Distance toggle on it is blank. Since this started, even old rides, a week ago, month ago, last year -- the Cadence graph is blank.

I don't think it's the Edge 500 -- it is recording and sending Cadence data. I also log my rides on Strava with the Edge, and the Cadence data is uploading fine over there. It's just after I edit on GC, the graph goes blank.

Kind of lost to try to get help from Garmin -- can't find this in the FAQ's, and their Email help wizard returns an error code so I can't email them -- it's not the device, appears to be a website problem. Using Mozilla Firefox v.28.0 on Win 8.1 and Win 7. Different machines, same problem.

Anybody have any clues? Much appreciated in advance.

    You're not the only one, it's happen to me and apparently many others. From what I've read, it's a known issue, whether or not they are working on it or are close to solving the problem seems to be a mystery.

    I'm going to assume your activity for the ride is something like "Road Cycling", if you want the graph back change it to the Generic "Cycling" - That worked for me. I went to the Garmin e-mail support page and informed them of the problem.
  • Thanks MMartin77. I am using Road Cycling -- will try the generic. of course, then Road gets mixed in with other cycling.

    Hopefully it's a short term solution and they're working on an actual fix. I noticed it a few weeks ago, so it's either not a priority or they are having trouble figuring out what's broken. If I get an answer to my e-mail, I'll post it here.
  • 10-4. Also FWIW, if I change Road Cycling to Cycling under Full Edit, the graph comes back. Then on the ride details page, if I try Quick Edit, and change back to Road, or even Strength Training or Running, the toggle dropdown won't change from Cycling. I used to be able to change this field under Quick Edit. Maybe connected to a larger interface prob with the site. Going to try it in Chrome and Internet Explorer too. Someone suggest it may be a Firefox issue.

    Since Garmin started updating their software, this seems to be one of a number of problems occurring in Garmin Connect!

    We are aware of the cadence graph missing when selected on a subcategory and are currently working to resolve it as soon as possible. I apologize for any inconvenience and please let us know if you need any further assistance.


    So, yes they know and are working on it.

  • Looks like they finally fixed it :). Also temp is correct too (for those with the Edge bike computers).
