610 Won't upload runs, won't sync with smartphone

Hi all,
I have a forerunner 610, and when I sync it with Garmin Connect it shows that there are no new runs to upload, even though there are. I also tried syncing it with my smartphone and it won't even acknowledge the device. Help!
