Vivofit - steps aren't showing up on garmin connect or sleep!

I've only use my vivofit for a week and never had problems with syncing my steps or sleep patterns but for some reason today I tried to sync to my phone garmin connect app and all data disappeared from dashboard! Help???
I'm having trouble syncing at times. I know on our Mac I have to make sure the Garmin Ant. is closed or it won't sync. Closing the app solves the problem. but now I'm having trouble syncing on my Dell laptop. Won't sync my steps or sleep today.
