Sorry for this rubbish first post. I signed up with my email address as my username on Garmin Connect and it seems to automatically post with my email address as my profile name on here. I'd rather not have that as my profile name. Have tried to modify my profile but can't see anywhere to edit my profile name. Don't want to create a new account in case I further confuse my easily confused Garmin Connect account. Can anyone offer any assistance? Thanks.

After this we can get to the really exciting first post....

OK. Can't solve this issue. Who cares. I get enough spam anyway.

    Hello,

Having some problems with my new Forerunner 220. It's been refusing to connect consistently with my Garmin Connect. Yesterday I went out and did a run. When I came back I couldn't upload it. Which is pretty standard to be honest. I went through some trouble shooting today but even with the watch connected to my laptop with a usb connector, it still wouldn't upload. It suggested that I needed to update my firmware to 2.60 so I did this. However this wiped my last two runs. I called Garmin Support who were fairly helpful but offered me nothing more than "it's gone. Sorry. Upgrading your software should not delete activities but that appears to be what's happened". In my watch currently it says there is no saved activities at all but it has recorded a record or two from the run yesterday. Is there any way of recovering the data? Was a good run so be good to recover it if at all possible.

Overall I've found the 220 immensely frustrating to use. The watch itself is great (like something out of the future for a man who is just used to running and roughly calculating how far I went and at what speed) but the pairing with an android phone, uploading data and general software side of it is a right pain. Drives me crazy. Having updated the firmware I am going to reset the watch and hope it doesn't happen again Any other tips on this and recovering the lost data is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Dan.

Thanks for the quick response. Have pmed the person as requested. Seems like I'm not the only one with that problem.
