I admit I'm a complete noob, and while I'll spend time reading through the forum posts for direction I'm hoping my post can generate some faster discussion (and help!)
I just purchased a Vivofit and heart rate monitor combo. Have it up and running and have been wearing my "manzier" for a couple days now. My expectation is that I would be able to see a continuous logging of my heart rate activity day and night. I sync my vivofit periodically during the day (I've sync'd to both the mobile app - my iphone and my laptop via Ant USB key). I seem to have this growing list of Activities in Garmin Connect - and the timing (duration) of the Activities makes no sense to me.
Example:
Last night I left my vivofit in normal mode (didn't put it into sleep mode) as I wanted to see my heart rate activity overnight. Went to bed around 10:15pm EST - had probably not sync'd the vivofit since earlier yesterday evening. When I woke up and got around, I sync'd. I would have expected to see an Activity that had a duration of somewhere around 12+ hours in duration, with accompanying status/measurements. Instead I have one that is just under 3 hours and one that is 11 minutes. Image is attached, showing HR activity during a few hours of the evening - but not the entire overnight period. I don't get it?
My list of activities continues to grow with seemingly no rhyme or reason. Do the Activities get logged (time set, etc) when I sync? Why do the durations seemingly not match the duration in between the time I sync?
Is there some instruction that I can refer to? I looked at the user manual for the vivofit - nothing useful there. Took the Garmin Connect tour - not helpful. This is either so simple that I'm over-complicating or I'm more dense than I thought. And I'm a techy -so all the more embarassing.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
